Standard Data was founded in 2024 by John Robison and Shaashwat Sharma with a mission to streamline how manufacturing data is managed. Drawing from their experience at Palantir, where they saw companies spend millions on manual data integration using outdated systems like SAP and Oracle, they realized this could be automated with advanced technologies like LLMs (Large Language Models).
The Problem: In the manufacturing industry, data is scattered across various formats—whether it's in Excel sheets, Word documents, or different ERP systems on the factory floor. This fragmented setup makes it difficult to get answers to even basic questions, as valuable information often remains locked in the minds of subject matter experts rather than an easily accessible platform.
The Solution: Standard Data solves this issue by integrating all of a manufacturer’s disparate data into a unified knowledge base. This allows users to query the data in natural language, providing clear insights into key processes. Additionally, they offer the ability to implement workflows on top of this knowledge base, automating tasks and improving decision-making across the board.
By capturing and utilizing operational knowledge more effectively, Standard Data is helping manufacturers become more efficient, ensuring they can expand their capabilities in the years to come.
